Whether your group is large, medium, or small, these activities can be done in pairs. 
You can have people choose partners, or set up a method (e.g., "Count off One, Two, One, Two around the circle. Now every Two, walk around with your eyes closed until you bump into a One. That's your partner" 
To make sure it's a mixer, tell people to pair up with someone they don't know or know only slightly.
